Seats seven comfortably, but really hard for me to look at for long periods of time.
Still, immortal and whatnot!

I’ve determined that mine hates cold weather. The past couple of days, it has felt fine. It does feel down on power(normal when it’s hot out), but it feels tighter., it tracks straight, the steering doesn’t wobble, and there is less clunking. It has a soul, and it’s taunting me.

!!! What? How do I get this mythical wagon? ?

Keep it going until you can find a new daily! Mine is uh... it’s been... better I suppose.

It’s got 2.5 months of daily duty to go, provided I don’t have to order a car. I think I can do this, as long as I keep adding oil...

Import one from Japan, Australia, or the Middle East.
They aren’t that expensive in Japan right now, but also aren’t US legal yet.
The Middle Eastern cars are also left-hand drive.

But why?

Why not?
Only $500 USD (excluding shipping and import) for a fairly low mileage wagon, with the added bonus of it being unusual for North America. If I lived in Canada, it would be on a boat already.
Though, I’d have to consider stretching the budget a bit for this example (V6, AWD, and lower miles).
We had a 4th gen Camry when growing up, and I always wished we could have bought a wagon.

My dad had one of these, and I though the coolest thing about it were the speakers mounted to the ceiling, fascinated me as a 5 year old.

How can they not be legal? Aren’t they basically Camrys underneath?

Lighting and emissions equipment at least. Possibly side-impact standards, too.
To import one before the 25 year rule, you would need to get a letter from Toyota saying that it met all of the applicable regulations/what needs to be done to meet all of the applicable regulations. I doubt that anyone has bothered to try and get one for a 19 year old Camry, if Toyota is willing to provide one at all.
